WHY YOU NEED THE POWER OF LIGHT IN YOUR FAMILY

Every family is in a crucial stage right now due to the changes in the world we live in.

The enemy is determined to sow discord and hostility among family members.

As the world grows darker, the enemy remains relentless.

Yet, the family is the instrument God intends to use to bring forth His light.

In your community, it’s essential that your family reflects a life filled with God’s light, this is one of the most powerful ways to share His word with others.

Darkness can never overcome light, nor can it extinguish it.

When our families shine the light as God intended, many will be drawn to Him, surrendering their lives to Christ without needing persuasion from any preacher.

Let your family’s way of life reflect the God-kind of life.

You must be deliberate in shining your light in a dark world so that when you stand before your Creator to give an account, you will do so with confidence.

Living in the power of God’s light means intentionally seeking His presence day and night in every aspect of your family life.

As a parent, let your light shine before your children. Let them see you as a true man or woman who loves what God loves.

Ask yourself, “What can I do to help my family experience the light of God?”, and make it a daily practice.

What is the source of this light? John 1:9

When we speak of the light of God, we are referring to Jesus Christ Himself, as He is the light that shines within us (John 8:12).

This means allowing Jesus to shine through in our families.

God is the ultimate source of light, and every family that knows Him can reflect His power in all areas of their lives, including their attitudes and relationships with others.

When families abide in Christ they radiate the love of God, His grace, power, and presence.

That family will stand out, and wherever they go, people will notice the difference because they reflect the light of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, in the lives of everyone they encounter.

Now, more than ever, you must prioritize your relationship with God.

What will the power of Christ do in your life?

1. It Will Dispel Darkness

For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [live as those who are native-born to the Light]

Ephesians 5:8

Darkness cannot exist where light is present.

When we allow God’s light to shine, it dispels every form of negativity, conflict, and sin, illuminating every corner of our home.

As His light shines through us, God reveals many things to us.

Where there is no light, fear thrives. Therefore, we must continually invite God into our lives through prayer, scripture, intentional acts of love, obedience, and more.

2. It will Direct Families

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

Psalm119:105

The light of God’s word will illuminate your family’s path, ensuring that it shines brightly each day, free from errors and mistakes.

The light of God’s word will illuminate your family’s path, ensuring that it shines brightly each day, free from errors and mistakes.

With this divine guidance, you can navigate life’s challenges with confidence and clarity, making choices that align with His will.

Embracing His light not only brings peace and direction but also fosters unity within your family, allowing you to support one another and grow together in faith.

As you walk in His light, you will inspire those around you to seek the same radiant guidance.

3. It will Bring About Love & Unity

Above all, have [a]fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others].

1 Peter 4:8

In your family’s imperfections, you will demonstrate love, and they will do the same in return.

Even in moments of discipline, love will prevail. You will cultivate a sense of unity, forgiveness, and acceptance.

When you allow the light to work through you, they will recognize it in you.

As parents, make it a priority to consistently express love to your children and your spouse.

4. It will Expose and Heal Wounds

For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged [a]sword, penetrating as far as the division of the [b]soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12

Old wounds will be healed when you bravely confront and confess your family’s hurts.

As parents, it’s crucial to model humility and transparency by apologizing to your children when necessary. Address issues honestly and take responsibility for your actions.

You must learn to bravely confront and confess your family’s hurt.

5. It will Reveal Beauty and Purpose

The power of God’s light transforms and beautifies our families.

As you embrace His light, the vision you have for your family will begin to manifest.

It is essential to be intentional in shining God’s light both in your home and within your community.
